Break Down Walls of Darkness with Prayer

by John and Ruth Greene
YHWH's Word

The Lord of Hosts thinks about you. His thoughts, His prayers for you are peace. While He gave you free will, He wants you to realize your full potential through the power of His Will. You only need to believe it and act in accord with it. YHWH, the Lord of Hosts, does not desire for you to live in discouragement, defeat, darkness, despair or to dwell under the thumb of demonic oppression.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29: 11-13

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you.” – Jeremiah 31:3

Your Heavenly Father’s love for you is everlasting. Through Christ, He sees you as His complete creation. He wants you to pray using scripture, your knowledge and memory of the Bible, for breakthroughs in your life. Feel free to sit down with the Bible and pray from it. His Word is not only His promise, but your tool.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:“For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:35-40

Divine CounselorThe truth remains that YHWH’s Will doesn’t include walls that deny your full access to Him, or to the inheritance that has been given to you. Any walls come from dark spirit forces or from the constraints that you build. Remember this when as you pray and battle in spiritual warfare. When you’re held captive by the world and dark demonic forces, the Lord of Hosts intends to bring you back from your captivity. Whether you brought yourself into captivity or whether dark forces brought you into captivity doesn’t matter. Turn aside from the past and trust Him without wavering. Even when you do waver, come back to that fullness of trust. (Jeremiah 29:14) You can count on the Lord of Hosts.

The inheritance that your Heavenly Father has planned for you is outlined in Ephesians the first chapter. These are revealed through His Word, His spiritual favor toward you as you trust in Him and pray for His Will in your life. (Ephesians 1:1-14)

He wants you to be whole and blameless before him in love. He intends for you to be part of his family as you listen and actively pursue His Word. You are redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ as you bear the fruit of obedience. Your sins are forgiven as you repent. As you apply Bible knowledge and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life, you receive the glory of his favor, including the wisdom that only YHWH can give. Your Heavenly Father has made His Will known through scripture.

In Ephesians 1, the apostle prays for future generations in these areas:

1. That you be ‘enlightened’ with understanding and growing spiritual maturity,

2. That you have the trust of YHWH in your life,

3. You have received your rightful inheritance through Him,

4. He works through the Holy Spirit in your life as the sacrifice of Christ makes you whole.

All of these blessings are contained in the first chapter, a delightful passage that reveals some of YHWH’s intentions for your life when you put your trust in Him.

When Joshua fought the battle of Jericho, he used praise as a powerful and formidable weapon against his enemies. Today, disciples use praise and the power of scripture in breaking down spiritual walls in the same way that Joshua broke down the walls of Jericho. (Joshua 6:20) The Bible and the words that you speak are formidable weapons in spiritual warfare against dark forces. Your praise, combined with trusting prayer through the Word of YHWH leads you to victory. This involves your active trust in the Lord of Hosts and the provision that he has made for you. YHWH inhabits the praises of his people. (Psalm 22:3-5)

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” – Psalm 9:10

Praise and the power of YHWH’s Word in your prayer life smashes the walls that Satan and dark forces have erected to keep you from experiencing the abundant life that you have inherited. Prayer and praise opens the gate so you can experience the fullness of YHWH Almighty.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

As you pray remember to use scripture when praying, remember to praise god for all that He has done and is doing in your life. You can trust His promises in your life.

“For You will light my lamp; the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength,  and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.” – Psalm 18:28-34

Remember that the power to accomplish spiritual strength against dark forces is accomplished through the power of the Holy Spirit and he works through and cleanses your life. The power of the Holy Spirit enables you to remove walls that Satan and dark forces have placed before you and around you, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts.” – Zechariah 4:6

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending Jesus the Messiah, your only begotten Son to be my Savior. I believe in Him and have made this belief the center of my life. Because of this, by faith I have everlasting life! Thank you! I repent of my sins and of my past, freely admitting that I have fallen short of Your glory. I look fully forward to you in my life and commit my life to You. Thank You YHWH, my Heavenly Father for setting me free in the name of your Son Jesus. Amen.

genuine trustYou will never enjoy true freedom in Christ unless you read and absorb the Bible in prayer and trust. You will never know this freedom until you experience it for yourself. Get to know your Heavenly Father, His Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. The Holy Spirit is your teacher, your Holy Counselor that lives in you to help you learn about the truth of YHWH and His spiritual gifts.

Satan does not want you to have the excellence of YHWH in your life. People pray for protection and want to be taken care of, but often do little in growing close to Him. The world, your husband, your wife, your family, your government do not build your trust in YHWH or free you from spiritual bondage. Your church or your pastor cannot save you. Education, power and money will not free you, but only the Word of your Heavenly Father. Salvation is a daily walk, an act of love for yourself and for those around you, not a one-time event that centers only on you. Make the Word of YHWH your own, your very life!
